Call for papers for an inTRAlinea Special Issue (2013), edited by María del Mar
Sánchez Ramos, María Porciel Crosa and Iris Serrat Roozen.

Submissions are invited for a special issue of inTRAlinea online journal of
translation studies on Translation and Lexicography, to be published in 2013.

Topics may include but are not restricted to the following:
-E-Lexicography and translation
-Dictionary look-up strategies and translation
-Specialized translation and lexicography
-Corpus linguistics and dictionary making
-Translation and lexicographic typology
– Multimedia dictionaries and translation practice
– Advanced query interfaces
– Specialized dictionaries and terminology
– Translator training and dictionary use
-Social media and lexicography

Contributions can be submitted in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish,
and should not exceed 7,500 words including notes and references.… [ Va' avanti ]

It has been organized a one-day symposium at Lessius Antwerp on Wed 10 Oct 2012 by Luc van Doorslaer & Peter Flynn (CETRA & Lessius) about how translation scholarship and research changed throughout time and space. This symposium will attempt to gain insight into how language and culture might determine translation scholarship and its various methodological traditions and concerns.

A team of Britain’s most distinguished literary translators will lead a series of masterclasses in London.

Each half-day workshop focuses on a single language and will be structured around close work on texts sent in advance to participants. Discussion will centre on the differences in approach evident in variant translations of the same texts. Participants should have a good working knowledge of the language and will be invited to prepare their own translations of the texts under discussion.

Mercoledì 26 e giovedì 27 settembre (ore 9.30), presso l’Aula Magna “Miazzi” del Dipartimento di Antichistica, Lingue, Educazione, Filosofia – A.L.E.F. (sede dell’ex Dipartimento di Lingue e Letterature Straniere), viale San Michele 9, si terrà la VI edizione del convegno “Il Traduttore Visibile” (autore e traduttore: “Le relazioni Pericolose” /San Gerolamo Epistola 57: “de optimo genere interpretandi”).
Apriranno i lavori il Direttore del Dipartimento prof. Giuseppe Biondi e il vicesindaco dott.ssa Nicoletta Paci.

Il progetto sin dalla sua origine si prefigge l’obiettivo di formare e informare studenti e traduttori professionisti in materie concernenti la preparazione professionale e le sfide poste dalla pratica lavorativa.

Seguendo il doppio filo enunciato del formare e informare, le giornate del convegno si sviluppano su due nuclei argomentativi diversi: il primo esplicitamente dedicato alla traduzione letteraria con precise connessioni alla didattica e alla prassi comunicativa, mentre il secondo attiene alla pratica della traduzione legale e l’affidabilità della traduzione in rete.… [ Va' avanti ]

Lunedì 24 settembre alle ore 18 Ginevra Bompiani e Chiara Valerio presenteranno la nuova traduzione di Virginia Woolf Flush. Una biografia (Roma, nottetempo, 2012). La presentazione si terrà presso la Casa delle Traduzioni – Istituzione Biblioteche Comune di Roma, in Via degli Avignonesi, 32 – 00187 Roma.
